A government certificate for innovation isn't the kind of thing that changes a product overnight – but it's a formal acknowledgement of the R&D work that's been going into PICVISA's equipment all along.
PICVISA has been granted the Innovative SME certificate by Spain's Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, valid for a period of three years.
The Innovative SME certificate is awarded to small and medium-sized companies that demonstrate a sustained commitment to research and development – recognising not a single product or project, but an ongoing pattern of innovation across the company's activities. For PICVISA, this reflects the continuous development that has gone into its optical sorting, robotics and flow analysis technology over the years, rather than any one specific launch.
Beyond the recognition itself, the certificate can also open up access to certain funding programmes and partnerships aimed specifically at innovative SMEs – support that, in turn, can help sustain the kind of ongoing R&D investment the certificate was awarded for in the first place.
