The 2030 Agenda sets out 17 goals at a global scale, but for a single company the useful question is much narrower: which of those goals can our day-to-day work actually move the needle on?
PICVISA has joined the ODSéate campaign, an initiative built around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda – 17 goals covering everything from poverty and health to climate action and responsible production.
The SDGs are a shared framework adopted by UN member states, intended to guide both government policy and private-sector action towards 2030. For a company working in recycling and the circular economy, several of the goals map directly onto the work already being done – particularly those relating to responsible consumption and production, climate action, and sustainable industry and infrastructure.
The ODSéate campaign proposes a five-step strategy for organisations to translate these global goals into concrete actions within their own operations. Rather than treating the SDGs as an abstract commitment, the idea is to identify the specific goals most relevant to the business and build them into ongoing decisions – something that, for PICVISA, aligns naturally with the broader purpose behind its sorting and recycling technology.
