PICVISA's optical sorting technology has been installed at the newly inaugurated AMB – Molins de Rei facility, operated by the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB).

An inauguration marks the point where a sorting line stops being a project under construction and starts being a plant that processes real waste streams from real households, day after day. For AMB, the Molins de Rei facility represents another step in how the Barcelona metropolitan area manages its waste – with PICVISA's optical sorting equipment forming part of how materials are separated and recovered there.

For PICVISA, having its technology specified for a facility operated by a public body as significant as the AMB is itself a kind of reference – the kind of installation that other municipal and regional operators, in Spain and internationally, can look to when considering their own sorting infrastructure.
